Timor-Leste also known as East Timor officially the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, is a country in Southeast Asia. It comprises the eastern half of the island of Timor – of which the western half is administered by Indonesia. Australia is the country’s southern neighbour, separated by the Timor Sea. The country’s size is 14,950 square kilometres (5,770 sq mi). Dili, on the north coast of Timor, is its capital and largest city.
Around 90% of Timorese identify as Roman Catholic and the remainder mostly as Protestant, Muslim and Hindu. Tetun and Portuguese languages have been given official status, with English and Indonesian considered working languages.

Currency
The currency of Timor-Leste is the United States Dollar (USD) based on a declaration of the UN Transitional Administration in East Timor.

Climate
Timor-Leste's s climate is hot and tropical, with an average annual temperature of 25-35* C and heavily influenced by West Pacific Monsoon and its mountainous climate. Its wet season takes place between December and May and dry season between June and November.

What to Wear
Students should bring cool, comfortable clothing. Formal pants shirts with tie appreciated for the school but during class comes with the school dress-code.

Safety
Violent and petty crime is not common in Dili, however, the risk increases at night if travelling alone.
